Cloudpoint improvers

The cloud point of a (diesel) fuel is the point where the fuel drops under a certain temperature and a cloud or haze of wax seed crystals appear (this can be measured by the ASTM D-5771 test method). If a (diesel) fuel has a temperature below its cloud point the oil will perform less and if a temperature drop continues the fuel may start to fail. These wax crystels also can plug filters in fuel systems. The cloud point is an index of the lowest temperature at which a petroleum can still perform properly. So low temperatures at or below the cloud point affects the operation of (diesel) equipment. A cloud point improver improves the cloud point of a (diesel) oil.
