- After ingestion: When swallowed seek medical aid immediately and show the physician the packaging or the label of the packaging.
- Inhalation: When spray fog inhaled, seek medical aid.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
- Extinguishing media: Use water spray jet, foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical (S43) Do not use strong water jet.
- Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours. In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO).
- Protective Clothing: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
- Personal precaution: Ensure adequate ventilation. Shut off all ignition sources. Wear appropriate protective equipment.
- Environmental Precautions: Avoid runoff into storm sewers and ditches which lead to water-ways.
- Cleaning up: Dike and absorb spill with absorbent materials (e.g. sand, kieselguhr, universal binder). Take up dry - forms slippery surface with water.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Advice on safe handling:
- The shipping in Road tanker, railway wagon, or bulk container is normally at temperatures up to 80ºC that is usually above the flash point.
- Provide good ventilation at the working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary). Avoid formation of aerosols.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion:
- Take precautions against accumulation of electrostatic charge.
- Keep away from sources of ignition - refrain from smoking
- Vapours can form an explosive mixture with air.
Further information on storage conditions:
- Keep container tightly closed in a well ventilated place
