2. INFORMATION ABOUT INGREDIENTS

A combination of various butyl phenols/diamine

3. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION

  • R36/38 irritating to eyes and skin
  • Can be absorbed through skin

4. FIRST AID

  • Contact with skin:Remove contaminated clothing immediately and drench affected skin with plenty of water. Then wash with soap and water. Seek medical advice. Contaminated clothing should be laundered before reuse
  • Contact with eyes: If substance has got into eyes, immediately wash out with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Irrigate eyes thoroughly with lifting eyelids. Seek immediate medical attention
  • Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water (do not swallow). Give 200-300 ml (half a pint) water to drink. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek immediate medical attention
  • Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, oxygen should be given by a trained person. Apply artificial respiration only if patient is not breathing. Seek immediate medical attention

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

  • In case of fire use water, alcohol resistant foam, carbon dioxide or dry agent (S43)
  • Do not use water jets
  • May give off noxious and toxic fumes in a fire
  • In the event of an adjacent fire, cool containers with water spray
  • Portable containers should be moved if possible and without risk
  • Wear chemical protection suit and positive-pressure breathing apparatus

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

  • Wear suitable protective clothing including eye/face protection and gloves (S36/37/39). Wear suitable respiratory protection
  • Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination (S37). Absorb spillage in suitable inert material
  • Ventilate the area and wash spill site after material pick-up is complete
  • Do not allow to enter public sewers and watercourses

7. HANDLING & STORAGE

  • Do not breathe vapour (S23)
  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes
  • Use only in well ventilated areas (S61)
  • When using do not eat, drink or smoke (S20/21)
  • Keep away from heat and sources of ignition
  • Keep only in the original container (S49)
  • Keep container tightly closed, in a cool, well ventilated place
  • Keep away from heat (S15)
  • Keep away from sources of ignition-No smoking (S16)
  • Ensure strict stock rotation

8. PERSONAL PROTECTION/EXPOSURE LIMITS

  • Wear PVC gloves, boots and apron
  • Wear goggles giving complete eye protection
  • In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment (S38)
  • Engineering controls should be provided, which maintain airborne concentrations below the relevant guidelines
  • In poorly ventilated areas or confined spaces, use self-contained breathing apparatus
  • Use good personal hygiene practices
  • Exposure limits: None assigned. Can be absorbed through the skin

13. DISPOSAL

Disposal should be in accordance with local, state or national legislation. In UK surplus product should be declared a 'Special Waste'. Refer to the Control of Pollution (Special waste) regulations 1980 - SI 1709. In the EU, surplus product should be classified in accordance with regulations made under Directive 78/319/EEC. Incineration by an approved method could be considered.
